COMPETITION, IN WHICH THE BEST CONSTRUCTOR TEAMS SET OUT ON EXPEDITIONS THAT ALLOW US
TO JUDGE WHO HAS REALISTICALLY REACHED THE HIGHEST PHASE OF DEVELOPMENT.
CONSTRUCTORS AND CONSTRUCTORS WORK INTENSIVELY, FIGHTING BATTLES WITH OTHER TEAMS,
SOLVING PUZZLES AND OVERCOMING OBSTACLES ON THEIR WAY TO THE GOAL.


THE ROAD THEY EMBARK ON ALLOWS THEM TO MEET MANY GUIDES WHO
HELP THEM REACH THEIR DESIRED GOA, AND THE EXPERIENCE THEY GAIN
OPENS THE DOOR TO A PROFESSIONAL CONSTRUCTION CAREER.

 

WE HAD SET THE BAR EVEN HIGHER FOR ACADEMIC STUDENTS. ALREADY AT THE START, THEY FACED
A 24-HOUR GAME JAM, WHICH DETERMINED THEIR FURTHER PARTICIPATION IN CYBERIAD. THE
QUALIFIED TEAMS CREATED THEIR OWN PRODUCTION THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, AND THE DEMANDING
JURY EXPRESSED THEIR OPINIONS
.
THE PARTICIPANTS ACCEPTED COMMENTS AND MADE CORRECTIONS ON AN ONGOING BASIS TO
FINALLY BE ABLE TO FINISH EVERYTHING AND CLIP THEIR PROJECTS ON THE TIE. THANKS TO THIS,
WE WERE SURE THAT THEIR WORK WAS NOT IN VAIN, AND THE PROJECTS COULD FUNCTION AS THE
SEEDS OF FULL-FLEDGED PRODUCTIONS.

DECLARE THE DEVELOPMENT PATH IN WHICH HE OR SHE WILL PARTICIPATE DURING THE
CHAMPIONSHIP: GAME DEVELOPMENT, EXPERIENCE DESIGN OR GAME DESIGN.

STUBBORNLY TRIES TO SIMULATE, PROTOTYPE AND DESIGN ANYTHING THAT EVOKES SOME KIND OF EMOTION. SHE HAS BEEN MAKING GAMES PROFESSIONALLY FOR ALMOST 8 YEARS, FROM EVERY POSSIBLE ANGLE. SHE HAS BEEN A PROGRAMMER, A DATA ANALYST, A QUEST AND LEVEL DESIGNER, A LEAD DESIGNER, AND NOW A CREATIVE DIRECTOR.

PAWEŁ FRELIK, PHD

MEMBER OF THE CYBERIADA PROGRAM COUNCIL UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR AT THE CENTER FOR AMERICAN STUDIES, UNIVERSITY OF WARSAW, WHERE HE ALSO HEADS THE SPECULATIVE TEXTS AND MEDIA LABORATORY. ACADEMICALLY, HE WORKS ON SCIENCE FICTION, VIDEO GAMES AND NON-POPULAR CULTURE. AMONG OTHER THINGS, HE IS THE AUTHOR OF MORE THAN 100 FOREIGN PUBLICATIONS IN THESE FIELDS, A MEMBER OF THE EDITORIAL BOARDS OF SCIENCE FICTION STUDIES, EXTRAPOLATION AND THE JOURNAL OF GAMING AND VIRTUAL WORLDS, AND CO-EDITOR OF THE NEW DIMENSIONS IN SCIENCE FICTION BOOK SERIES PUBLISHED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF WALES PRESS.

PIOTR MILEWSKI

CHAIRMAN OF THE CYBERIADA PROGRAM COUNCIL, SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT GAME DEVELOPER AND UNIVERSITY LECTURER. HE IS A SENIOR LECTURER IN HUMANITIES 2.0 – GAME RESEARCH AND DESIGN (GAMEDEC) AT KAZIMIERZ WIELKI UNIVERSITY IN BYDGOSZCZ, AND A
TEACHING ASSISTANT AT THE DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS AT GDYNIA MARITIME UNIVERSITY. HE TEACHES SUBJECTS SUCH AS BOARD GAME DESIGN, ANALOG GAME DESIGN, URBAN GAME DESIGN AND ARGS, PROJECT MANAGEMENT, IT PROJECT MANAGEMENT, GAMIFICATION, MULTIMEDIA, COMPUTER GRAPHICS AND MULTIMEDIA TECHNIQUES, ECONOMICS OF THE GAME INDUSTRY, AND STAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION.

NEARLY 200 STUDENTS FROM ALL OVER POLAND PARTICIPATED IN THE PROJECT. OUR ACTIVITIES TOOK PLACE IN 5 POLISH CITIES CALLED “BASES” (BISON BASE – BIALYSTOK, LUCKNIT BASE – BYDGOSZCZ, DRAGON BASE – CRACOW, DEVIL BASE – LUBLIN, DWARF BASE – WROCLAW). IN
EACH OF THEM, THE TEAMS TOOK PART IN NUMEROUS WORKSHOPS AND TWO GAMEJAMS, WHICH HELPED THEM CREATE A PROTOTYPE OF THE AUTHOR’S GAME.

IN ITS NARRATIVE LAYER, THE PROJECT REFERS TO THE WORKS OF STANISLAW LEM, AUTHOR OF A SERIES OF SHORT STORIES “CYBERIADA”, ONE OF WHICH WAS THE INSPIRATION FOR THE POPULAR GAME “THE SIMS”.

AS PART OF PROJECTS (TRIGAMICAL TOURNAMENT, CYBERIADA OR BOTH), THE FOLLOWING THREE
TYPES OF ACTIVITIES WILL BE IMPLEMENTED: – COMMON CROSS-BORDER PROGRAMMES AND
INITIATIVES FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS IN SPECIALISED AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION
ESTABLISHMENTS, – COMMON DEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTION OF SPECIALISED AND VOCATIONAL
EDUCATION OFFER, – IMPLEMENTATION OF CROSS-BORDER ACTIVITIES SUPPORTING SOCIAL
INCLUSION AND PARTICIPATION, – CROSS-BORDER EXCHANGE OF GOOD PRACTICES, – ACTIVITIES
AIMED AT DEFINING NEEDS IN THE CONTEXT OF SPECIALISED AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION.

OUR PERIODIC MONITORING FOCUSES ON THE DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES OF THE PROJECT. IT USES
CLEARLY STATED ACTIVITY INDICATORS IN THE PLAN FOR MONTHLY, QUARTERLY AND ANNUAL
TARGETS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED. MONITORING ACTIVITY INCLUDES MEASURING THE PHYSICAL
PERFORMANCES, BUDGETARY UTILIZATION, QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF WORK DONE, CORRELATION
OF THE WORK DONE WITH THE SET OBJECTIVES AND THE SET PLANS AND TIMETABLES.
